The Weekly Blogs

Each week, there will be one or two posts. Each post will describe the rides and photography for the week, where I went, the photographs I took and some examples, etc. Like a tree, there will be many pieces of fruit. I will choose the most ripe and keep the selection to only a few (my wife would be proud that i’m only choose the best to pick). By limiting these blogs to short entries, a rich mash of thoughts and feelings should be created to work with.

The Essays

Some of the posts will result in essays that develop an idea further or connects it to the larger project. The goal here is to “make an entrée” from the fruit of the posts. These will appear periodically and can be found under the Essays tab above. If there is ever to be a “full meal” with multiple dishes, i.e. a book, it will come from these essays. These will be permanent additions and always accessible.

The Tools

The main tools of this project —the motorcycle, the photography and the eudaimonic experience—will be discussed here. I will explore what the tool is, what it can do and how it can be used, and how it is relevant to this project. This will form the underlying structure that everything grows on, like the trunks and branches of a tree. You will find these under the relevant tabs above. These will also be permanent additions.

You will have opportunities to give feedback and comments at every stage, so please do so. The more this is a conversation, the better each part will become. Consider your comments as if I was “cooking all these things up” and you were there with me commenting on what’s going on. I would benefit from our conversation as I make the meal. It’s really that simple.

The organization of the blog will follow the making a good meal: the fruit (Posts) will be picked from the branches (Tools) and used to make various  entrées (Essays). At some point, a full meal made up of some select  entrées may be served up in book form. I hope you enjoy being part of the process.
